It’s interesting how ideas of post can pop in your head as I stopped by the chats today in TE land to wish everyone a Happy Easter. As I lurked and watched what was being said all I could think if only these people would work smarter not harder.
Now I know lot of you are not going to be happy with me and hopefully you will listen and really think about what I’m going to tell you. You have been around internet marketing long enough to know the money is in “the list”. Have you been creating your list or have you just been out there following the crowd.
You have heard many people tell you to pick one program and promote, promote, promote build up your downline and then when those referrals are earning you the credits and money that you need to that site – then find another and repeat.
Why would I want to build my downline in ONE program- there are reasons – and I will highlight a few of them here. The first is that most programs that you are an affiliate of will pay you for bringing in referrals. Now think about it how long do you spend a day surfing to earn .25, .50 or even 1.00? A way to work smarter, not harder – 1 referral for .25, 2 referrals for .50 and 4 for 1.00 @ .25 each.
Now if you took that time and promoted ONE program all over – putting all your advertising sources to work for you and yes I mean ALL. Most of your have credits built up from all the surfing that you have been doing earning those pennies, nickels, etc. right? Well use them credits up and start promoting, promoting, promoting your ONE site and I know all of you have a favorite site, maybe one you have been paid at already, one that you surf all the time etc.
Now here is the secret that most don’t know – most sites give you a % of credits for your referrals to the point that when you get lot of referrals – you don’t even have to surf the site anymore to keep credits – now that is how to work smarter, not harder. Most of the time new referrals need to surf to build up a credit surplus and if you look at the membership levels at your favorite site bet you will find even as a free members you get a % of credits
Got you thinking now huh? So if one of your referrals surfed 100 pages and you get 10% – that would be 10 credits earned x 10 referrals – well you can do the math. See how easy it can be to work smarter not harder – which is better a few hours promoting vs many hours surfing or clicking email for the same .25, .50. or $1.00 even.
So grab your favorite site’s URL and work smarter not harder and would love to hear some feed back on how much time you save in the long run and how much more money you will earn. Thanks for listening

I have been teaching and preaching and proving that exact concept for two years. The problem is two-fold. 1. Most do not listen because …. 2. they are afraid they will miss the something they did not even know they were looking for.

Thanks for your blog! As I am not surfing for such a long time, it is very useful to read:-)
However I already know what you state, it is lots of work you tell us to do.
A solution for this “problem” (as I try to do when I become a new member) is to put into one excell doc the following things:
name of the site / refid/spashlink/bannerlink/ squarebanner link.
I add (if I am able to find it) the name of the webmaster and the amount after which you will be paid.
Then promoting becomes more easy 🙂
As for promoting it is also to be said (I admit)…….. I look for the “hypes” and surfing is an addictive matter……….. I hear myself think: “ow, just 50 (or more) pages more surfing and I will get a few cents more.
That leads to the fact I am regularly surfing at times I should be sleeping for a long time yet.
Anyway, it is good to know what to do for me now :-)………..

If everyone followed your advice to promote only one program, then anytime a new program launched (such as Pure Leverage or Quanta or whatever), only new marketers would join, as experienced marketers would stick with their current program. Considering the success of some recent launches, the Internet is very far away from that status. On the contrary, experienced marketers know when to jump at a new opportunity, and newbies are just guessing.

Well that idea is to get ONE program down – get a downline built, earn enough credits so you don’t have to panic if you don’t surf there each day, earn enough money that it pays for your upgrade so that site is making you money and not costing you money. Then add another site – do the same thing and then add another site. Thanks for the comment

I think a lot of people are actually scared of success.
They join every program that comes along promising them the next greatest slice of bread.
Then they don’t have the time to promote any of it and wonder why they are not getting anywhere.

I have been working online now for 12 years and I have been telling people for at least 10 of them this very same concept. I have worked with many people and tried to train them, but no matter how many times I have told people it seems to fall on deaf ears. One of the main problems I have seen with people Nancy is that they do not want to do the work or have the tenacity to stick with something long enough to be successful at it. They expect to get rich over night, and there is NO such thing.
I see people advertise at a few places for maybe a couple weeks, or if you’re lucky they may do it for a month, and they get upset because they are not seeing the results they think they should be. Well, guess what folks, advertising should be done everyday at as many different places as you can think of, not just sticking to TE’s…use all available resources, Text Ad Exchanges, Viral Mailers, Solo Ads, PTC sites, Social Networking sites, etc etc. That is how you will get a downline started and built up, and I know because I have been doing it for years.
There is more I could say about the subject, but I will let people read my articles if they want to learn more. You made a great post today Nancy, and I only pray that it does not fall on deaf ears as it does so many times.Occasionally the lightbulb does go off and someone finally gets it – so keep on doing you Nancy, and I pray there will be a few lightbulbs going off soon! Thanks Marilyn and you are right – everyone wants to find the secret and we keep telling them the secret and they still don’t listen all we can do is keep trying.
