Live like you were dying

Was listening to the news today about Dick Trickle and so sad as he was so liked in this state – attended the wrap up meeting tonight and James was talking about his age, weight and thought that health and heart problems don’t happen to someone his age – and yet many of take for granted that we will get up tomorrow.  There is a song by Tim McGraw that came to mind that I just love the lyrics and would like to share.

No matter how well planned you have your life there are things that will happen that is going to take you down a different path from where you thought you would be going.  I for one can testify to this as I thought about all this today in James’ webinar and listening
about Dick Trickle.

When I first came online, I remember I felt I had hit the end of the world – my life as I had known it for the last 25 years ended – I had gotten divorced not only from the ex but from a day to day life that I had been comfortable with.  Then a friend that I met online right away told me Nancy, it really don’t matter what happens – it’s how you handle it will make all the difference.

You know he was right, sometimes life don’t seem to treat you the best and will throw you a curve ball but as I look back now – I picked up myself, dusted the dust off and started my “new” journey that was waiting for me.  If you find yourself in that rut, feel like you have hit a brick wall, or your giddy up and go got up and gone – maybe you should step back and think about what is going on in your life right now.

What are you doing with your dash?  No I didn’t go Zaney – everyone has a dash and it’s from the time your were born – till the time of your death.  So I’ll ask again, what are you doing with your dash?

Get out there and like the song says – Live like you were dying.  Do the things that you have put off, do something out of your normal routine, go somewhere you have always wanted to go, use the good china, make some memories  – no matter what age you are – Just Do It.

WOW I had to come back and add another paragraph after reading a friend’s blog post
so head on over and read about the Daffodil Prinicple

  1. Great Post Nancy! We will always hit bumps in the road and yes it’s what we do with them that determines our path. But we also need to think about what we are given today and how we can take care of it… meaning our health, family, business etc. We can’t take it for granted, cause it may not be there tomorrow, but we should always take care of it today.

  2. Nancy,
This is such a good post. It hits home to most everyone I would think because we all have those things come up in our life. Many times we are stuck as to how to deal with them. I love that song too! 🙂

Thank you so much for your post and the one you shared with us.

    Susan
