Well after surfing so many sites and finding that this is an issue on many traffic exchanges, I decided that it was time to let people know what I have discovered and why this issue is hard to resolve.
First of all, my support guy, a dear friend and I have spent sooooooo many hours trying to resolve this issue and here is what we have come up with……….. There is an add-on that you can add to Firefox and this is the link Firefox Add-on Cloudacl
This is like setting parental control over the sites that you will be viewing and you can see from this screenshot that you have many options.
What we have discovered is that there are many sites that will be blocked from your viewing while you are surfing. The reason that this route was taken is that with so many sites out that unknowingly don’t even realize they have a issue. Our first idea was to block the sites but then thought that education was the best policy here.
This gives sites a chance to get things cleaned up on their sites, also let owners know that they even have an issue and give members a way to not be exposed to all this. Believe me, it’s not fun to be surfing along and have the Adult Friend Finder throwed in your face and it’s happened to me alot.
Anyone that would like to discuss this further or have other ideas on what they are doing to prevent this – I would love to hear your thought, idea and suggestions.
Nancy I too have seen this site on my TEs and have spent many hours trying to find it. Its usually buried within a rotator. I have also tried the plug-in and yes, many sites were being blocked from being seen, so that wasn’t the answer.
I’m not sure of the answer, but was glad to see you write this post and lets hope that someone has an answer to nip this.
Yes I agree Michael – not sure the answer either but as site owners we need to fight back somehow and hoping that someone has a solution for us and would share as it’s not fun spending all the hours it takes to find these framebreakers.
Hey Nancy,
Thank you for bringing this topic up. AFF has been a very pesky site that has been popping up on a lot of the TE’s during this past summer. I appreciate very much having this information regarding the Firefox add-on and plan to add it immediately. I also appreciate when TE Owners share valuable information with each other, especially in an attempt to combat these losers that keep posting this kind of material and also to keep members safe. Have a great day!
Respectfully,
Vicki Osgood-Whatley
Thanks Vicki and I just hope that with his post that we can all come together and find a solution
Thanks Nancy. That’s why I more or less stopped doing TE’s. I did install the add-on to my FF, it does not seem to be available for Chrome. I am having issues lately with FF, it saying the site or page is not available though when i go to Chrome it’s there.
It’s also available for Chrome. Installed it 🙂 thanks again Nancy
Oh that was going to be my answer as I did that it was for Chrome and hate to hear that you quit TE’s as I do really well in getting referrals and earning money with them and not just as an owner but as an affiliate.
